Description: For my project, my partner and I chose to do a cavanger hunt. We put all our pictures onto slides with corresponding definitions. Each slide is put up around the room, and students are told to walk around and finish the worksheet. Students walked around the room and had to match the words with the pictures and definitions. Once all students were finished, they sat back in their desks, and we went over the answers with the class.
Photos:
Color - what you see when light reflects off something - it helps use desrbie objects and make the world bright and interesting
Value - how light or dark a color is - shows depth, shadow, and light
Movement - how an artist shows action or guides your eyes through a picture - it makes the artwork feel lively
Balance - when the parts of a picture are arranged so nothing feels too heavy or too empty - it makes the artwork look steady and even
Space - the area around, between, or inside things in a picture - shows depth and makes artwork look bigger or smaller
Extension Activity: If I were to do another activity with these pictures, I would make it into a matching game. I would print out the words and defnitions and picutres. Students would play a normal matching game where they have all the cards upside down. Students take turn one-by-one flipping the cards. If they get a match, they get to keep it and go again.
